Projects, Clients & Transactions

Former Canal Zone Area

For many years INDESA has been analyzing the impact of the repossession of the former Canal zone territories as was agreed upon in the Panama Canal Treaties of 1977.

INDESA’s first assignment on this matter was conducted for a group of banks (7) and consisted in the “Analysis of the Economic Impact of the Withdrawal of U.S. Military Bases from Panama” (1995).

Later, in 1997, under contract with the Panamanian Government, INDESA conducted a study on the economic value of the Canal Zone territories. In this study, the firm suggested, in chronological order, possible uses for the territories and an analysis on their expected economic impact.
